FP Marine Risks, a specialist marine insurance broker, has provided expertise across all classes of marine insurance since 1994. The company is unique in being a multinational broker dedicated solely to providing marine insurance expertise to a broad range of clients in marine industry.

We consist of a highly experienced, diverse group of people with strong marine backgrounds in marine insurance broking, underwriting and adjusting, ship management and maritime law. We provide support for our clients at every stage of the insurance process ensuring an efficient and thorough service.

Mark Johnson

Chief Executive Officer

Mark joined FP Marine Risks as CEO in March 2017. He has worked in London, Hong Kong, Canada and Thailand in senior management positions for both brokers and insurers before returning to Hong Kong for this role. With more than 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry he has the knowledge and expertise to handle a wide variety of commercial risks that FP Marine Risks clients face.

 

 

 

 

Richard Walker

Executive Director

Richard joined the company after the brokerage he founded in 2005 was acquired by FP Marine Risks in April 2014. Prior to this, Richard spent 23 years in Hong Kong as the Chief Executive of a major international broker, as well as several years with the insurance subsidiaries of well-known shipping companies in London and Bermuda. Richard has over 40 years’ experience in the insurance field and is a Chartered Insurance Practitioner and qualified as an A.C.I.I. He recently relinquished his role as Group Chief Executive of FP Marine Risks to concentrate on working with the Company’s Shipping team and clients.

 

Dennis Tang

Dennis Tang

Regional Managing Director, Greater China

Dennis joined FP Marine Risks in June 1998 having formerly been Marine Manager for a large broking house in Hong Kong. His marine insurance career spans well over 30 years and includes underwriting, average adjusting and broking.  Dennis is a leading figure in the marine markets of Hong Kong and Taiwan and a respected authority on all forms of facultative marine reinsurance. Dennis is a Chartered Insurance Broker of the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK.

Wang Wei

Chief Representative, Beijing

Wei joined the company in early 2003 having previously worked as a reinsurance broker for an international broker in Singapore. He previously worked in the Greater China trading industry. Heading up the Beijing office, Wei is responsible for managing and expanding FP Marine Risks’ Greater China business, with a particular focus on cargo risks.

Simon Gosnell

Simon Gosnell

Joint Regional Managing Director, Australia, New Zealand & the Pacific

Simon was formerly the Managing Director of a specialist marine insurance broking company which he co-founded in 1986. Prior to this Simon worked in the Lloyd’s market as a marine hull and cargo broker. Having been in the market for over 40 years, he has a wide knowledge of most aspects of marine insurance but with a particular emphasis on hull and protection & indemnity risks. Simon holds an Australian Diploma of Insurance Broking.

Pauline Lai

Pauline Lai

Head of Finance

Pauline is a qualified CPA and is responsible for the group’s overall finance, tax and treasury related functions. With a career in excess of 20 years, Pauline has extensive regional finance experience in the investment and insurance industries, which have included multinational and listed companies. Throughout her career with expertise in finance, mergers and acquisitions, she has led sizable teams and also held board roles.

Andrew Glover

Joint Regional Managing Director, Australia, New Zealand & the Pacific

Andrew is responsible for the development and management of FP Marine Risks in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.  He was a broker at Lloyd’s for eight years before emigrating to Australia in 1987 where he has continued to work in the marine insurance industry.

Lesley Jamieson

Lesley Jamieson

Head of Operations

Lesley has more than 20 years experience in the international and domestic accident, health, travel and marine insurance markets, incorporating all aspects of operational, product & project management. With a particular emphasis placed on technical compliance, and service excellence. In her varied career, she has set up and managed operational units in Hong Kong, Miami and Shanghai.

Their core business is providing insurance solutions to small and medium logistics enterprises in and around Shanghai. Originally called HY Insurance Brokers, the company was re-branded in 2012 following an investment by FP Marine Risks.
